 2009 Mid-Atlantic Super Regional Champions
AAU Nationals Division I
Team 10 Green Coaches Andre Strothers & Todd Ross
After losing their first two games, the Fencor 10 Green won 17 straight games and finished the 2009 AAU season with
a 24-14 record. The Fencor 10 Green basketball team qualified for D-I Nationals by winning the Super Regional and finishing 2nd in the Districts.
The determined group showed that it could play with and compete with the top programs in the Mid-Atlantic area and country. This was
evidenced by the team's victories over teams that qualified for D-I Nationals as well as some very good 11-yr old teams. In order to prepare
for the tough D-I National competition the 10 Green's finished the regular tournament season playing up against 11-year old teams posting a respectable
3-5 record.
At the D-I Nationals a tough opening stretch resulted in the 10 Green starting out 0-3 losing to top teams from Indiana, Arkansas and West Virginia. All
of the opening round games were close at the half, the 10 Green even led West Virginia by 1, but the speed and size of their opponents seemed to wear down
the 10 Green in the 2nd half. However, the 10 Green refused to fold and responded to win it's opening game of the Classic Bracket before losing
to a team from Minnesota that would end up the Classic Runner-up. A close 5-point loss would conclude the season.
Turnovers and shooting proved to be a challenge for the young team but the 10 Green prided themselves on defense and rebounding and their stats reflected
this. The 10 Greens amassed close to 1200 rebounds and almost 500 steals which helped them win and/or compete in every game. Every
player contributed to the success of the team as is evident by the fact that all players are listed in at least one of the 12 statistical categories
Points, Rebounds, Steals, Assists, etc.)
Despite not performing as well as they'd hope at Nationals the Fencor 10 Green still enjoyed a fun and successful season, one in which every player improved
their level of play from beginning to end. -Andree Strothers

 2009 Mid-Atlantic District Champions
AAU Nationals Division I
 1st Place Championship Consolation Bracket
Team 11 Green Coaches Eric & Heather Glemser
11-Green - The Fencor "Peeps" had a very successful season this year with
each player showing significant development as the months progressed. The
girls played as a close-knit team on the court and enjoyed their extended
"peeps family" relationships off the court.
At local tournaments, the team was undefeated in their age group and most
often played up in age a year or two, sometimes three, even winning a U14
One day Shootout Tournament in Aston, PA. The Peeps enjoyed several "road
trip" tournaments in New Jersey and Virginia where, in addition to stellar
AAU action on the courts, they enjoyed hanging out together at team dinners
and evenings in the hotel pools.
In April, the team went undefeated in the Mid-Atlantic District tournament
to qualify for Nationals. In late June, at the National tournament in
Kenner, LA, the team went 3-0 in pool play to earn the right to advance to
the Championship Bracket where they lost to the eventual tournament
champions in the first round. The Peeps then went 4-0, winning out in the
Championship Consolation Bracket. The team placed 17th in the country,
finishing 7-1 overall at the National tournament. After much hard played
basketball, the team enjoyed a day together visiting the local attractions
in the city of New Orleans.
In July, the team again traveled to the Washington DC area where they
benefited from an opportunity to play up in the U12 bracket of the US Junior
Nationals tournament on the campus of the American University. The trip
wrapped up a season that was both fun and highly successful.

 2009 Mid-Atlantic District Champions
AAU Nationals Division I
 2nd Place Classic Bracket
Team 12 Green Coach Brian Morris
The Fencor 12 A's Green team Has an excellent season finishing with a overall record 33-12 and taking second place
in the Classic Bracket Championship.
Throughout this very exciting season to say we were snake bitten with injuries at times would
be a understatement. At any given tournament we would sometimes have 7 players and at times
we would have 10 to 11 and unfortunately we never had full cast but that didn't matter to this feisty
group of players. They always fought hard and played together as a team, and what was great about
this group was know one ever cared who got the credit and you never knew which kid was going to
step up in which game but someone always did step up and make a difference in every game.
Some of the highlights would definitely have to be the Championship game in the Mid-Atlantics. After
losing one of our best defensive players in Savanna Malloy prior to the tournament and then losing our
leading scorer and rebounder in Shelby Mueller and having to play three games in one day winning the
championship was going to be a tough task against a very goof Philadelphia Belles team. We started
the game very slow and found ourselves down 18 to 4. A brief time out settled everybody and we made
the decision to once again step up and we found ourselves down 2 at half and took over in the second half
enroot to a 12 point win highlighted by Rachel Howry's 20 pts who in the absence of Shelby Meuller played
a flawless game.
We continued to make strides as a team we played in some tough tournaments to get us prepared to go to
Nationals. Even though we started out the gates slow the first game, we came to life and had a heart breaking
loss to the Maryland Flames which sent us to the Classic Bracket. The girls realized the missed opportunity
to advance to the Championship Bracket but they rallied around one another and single handedly impressed
a lot of people on there way to a great run and finish as runner up in the Classic Bracket.

Team 12 White Coach Geoff Dreyer
The 12U White team had a great season and showed tremendous signs of improvement throught the season. After
getting off to a slow start by going 1 - 3 and 0 - 4 in the first 2 tournaments, the team showed steady improvement over the next 2 tournaments
by going 2 – 2 in back to back tournaments. The team continued to work hard and the improvement continued. Although they
were typically playing against teams with a distinct height advantage, the 12U White team showed an exceptional ability to press and create
turnovers. This aggressive style of play resulte in the girls going 3 – 1 in 4 of their last 5 tournaments. A
tremendous improvement and great way to end a fun season!!!-Geoff Dreyer

Team 13 White Coach Jeff Worthington
Fencor's 13 White team steadily improved through the summer, never posting a losing record in a tournament and
finishing on a high note with a 4-0 Wildwood tournament. Despite playing a 'B'-team schedule, 13 White was rarely overmatched,
and finished 8 games over .500 for the season.

Team 14 Gold Coaches Derek Cornish & Stephanie Bates
The team had a rough start playing in the 14 super regional’s. Playing against tough competition, the team
persevered and was never out of a game. That tournament was the 14’s turning point as the team went on to improve not only as individuals
but as a TEAM. All through the year the team showed dedication to becoming better players as there was good attendance at every practice. The
team went on to finish 21 – 11.
A special thanks to all the parents and players for a successful season!

Team 15 Green Coaches Jennie Hall & David Butler
The 15 Green Team had a very challenging and competitive season. They competed in a total of 12
tournaments. 12 players came together and put a good product on the court. There were a few injuries that occurred, but
this forced the team members to take thier game to the next level. With each tournament the team gained valuable experience and played
their best basketball at the end of the season, and had an especially good showing at the Blue Chip Tournament at Villanova; winning all 4 games,
prior to going to junior nationals. The team finished the season with an over-all record of 29-21.

Team 15 Gold Coaches Jim Siegler & Maggie Collins
For a smaller team, both in size and in numbers, the girls worked together and stepped up and played, at times,
out of there positions. Through playing A and B squads each girl improved on both ends of the court. We had a great
time as a group and the girls became friends off the court, as well as the coaches and parents. All and all it was a very successful season!
